3D printable models may be created with a computer-aided design (CAD) software. This can include plastic parts not in production anymore (ie. vintage vehicle restoration), or letters, shapes, everyday items tailored to specific needs, prototyping, etc.. CAD models can be saved in the stereolithography file format (STL). A slicer software is also needed, and a printer of course. We use filament and resin printers.
